Be able to expand on my vocal range
My current status at the moment for my range is between high and low.recently i have been practicing some songs with both of these ranges however i sometimes find belting very hard,so to improve on expanding my vocal range i am going to set myself a smart target.so my specific target is to expand on my vocal range.i am going to measure my progress by videoing myself each week of the same song and measure my progress from there.i think this will be achievable by having to practice each week.To be able to achieve my goal i am going to do vocal warm ups daily and the ones i am personally going to use is scales - this is the main warm i should be doing to expand on my vocal range and that it also helps belting.my overall deadline for this particular target is about 1 month just see how the overall progress is going. The evidence i am going provide myself with is video's of song i couldn't sing before.
Be able to sing with emotion.
current status with expression is not the best. Recently have been trying to be able to sing with emotion but when i rehearse i always tend not to sing with expression. So to improve i am going to start practicing singing in the mirror which will help me see how i am singing and how my posture is whilst doing so.Also when i am practicing i am going to try and sing without lyrics in front of me because when i am reading of something i tend to show no emotion. My overall deadline for this goal is most likely to be around a month this is because i want to record myself each week so that i can see how much progress i make,Also on the deadline i have set myself i have evidence that i have improved and that i have successfully achieved my goal.
Be able to improvise on songs that i feel are too hard
Recently as a vocalist i have been rehearsing a few songs out of my comfort zone and i would really like to learn on how to improvise on songs that i cant really sing.So to improve i am going set myself a plan on how i can work around these difficult songs for example: i would really love to sing if i were a boy by Beyonce, however i cant really hit all the notes so as a strategy i am going to change the key a bit and improvise on the things i feel that needed to be changed. My overall deadline for this goal is probably a week because i feel that if i can rehearse a song and work on it throughout the week im sure i will be able to achieve this goal. Finally the evidence resource i am going to use is a video camera and my structure plan on a note book.
Be able to control on how i use my vocals when singing.
As a vocalist i would really like to improve on controlling my vocals, for example:breath, thick and thin vocal fold and diction. To improve on diction i am going to practice with tongue twister because this helps me with lips, teeth and tongue this warm up is very good for you're diction because it helps with you're pronunciation; improve on breath i am going to be doing some breathing exercises which are probably learning on how to control you're breathing. Finally to improve on thick and thin vocal fold i am going practice song on how to sing songs with thick vocal fold needed and the type of tone you would need for this is mostly likely loud and clear songs;for thin vocal folds its most likely breathy songs. My overall deadline for this goal is probably a 4 weeks this is because i want to get the best possible outcome for this big goal. The evidence that i am going to use is video evidence so that i can playback what i have recorded for the exercises and i am going to record evidence on how i sing a song cover.
Be able to warm up my voice successfully
Usually i don't really warm up my voice as i am meant to,because i didn't think it was really needed. However after learning about what not warming up can do to you i decided that i defiantly need to. So to improve on warming up i am going to set myself a list of vocal warm ups that i like and the ones that help me personally on my vocals. So the ones i am personally going to use is tongue twisters, scales, trills, sirens, breath control and arpeggios. The overall deadline that i am going to give is most probably a week so that i can see the difference between before and after singing the same song. The evidence that i am going to use is video evidence this is because i want to record a before and after video of the same song and see the difference.
DISTINCTION: You have evidenced a very good identification of ambitious, aspirational yet realistic personal aims in relation to your current position as a vocalist. You have demonstrated self reflection in this and conveyed a detailed and well thought out action plan to help you achieve you goals.
